NaPoWriMo Day 3

Compassion charm

When anger is abundant and misunderstanding rampant,
when stress is overwhelming and empathy absent,

watching friends and foes shake their heads, listening to their deep sighs
it brings you back instantly to worse days, wrong ways and many failed tries.

It can put your attitude in a funk and your emotions out of check.
Here's a simple charm to keep your apathy from causing an emotional train wreck.

Do act of faith in the darkest of times, give and accept a loving smile through the tears,
Remember those that helped put you together when you were broken and subdued your sneers

and never forget those who tamed your angry soul through all of your fears.
And this will most definitely keep you compassionate in upcoming years.

Was a little late posting this one for Day 3. I accepted the challenged posted on NaPoWriMo to "write a charm – a simple rhyming poem, in the style of a recipe-slash-nursery rhyme". I normally do not do rhyming poems so this one was a bit of a challenge for me. But that is what this month is about isn't it?
